Dottie spoke to a full house at a book signing on August 13 at  the home of Lorie Knowlton in Columbia, SC.

Dottie’s next book signing will be held Saturday, August 13th, from 2-4pm in Columbia, SC at the home of Lorie Kirby Knowlton.

Dottie’s book signing on July 7th at the NAMI Convention went very well. She met many nice people dealing with bipolar disorder in their families as well as consumers who suffer from the illness. It was truly a heartwarming experience.

In addition, Dottie was asked to speak at a session on Psychiatric Advance Directives and Civil Commitments. The presenter was Shawn Majette, member, Special Needs Alliance in Richmond, VA, who had read her book and asked Dottie to speak about her experience with the mental health system in Virginia.

Team “Mind On The Run” scores big at this year’s NAMI Walk-A-Thon in Naples, Florida. The new team consisting of only four walkers, raised over $3,500 for the annual NAMI event. The Naples Daily News caught this picture of fellow walkers Sissy and Ray Jahn at the event.

The book is scheduled for release at the NAMI Convention in Chicago on July 6th. Dottie will be doing book signings in the NAMI Bookstore at the Chicago Hilton on Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.
